How was he a jerk? I know he can be very very opinionated and stubborn, kind of overbearing sometimes, but he tends to mean well. I don't know what to tell you about the gender thing. Curiosity, I suppose? *shrugs*
Even if he's opinionated, he shouldn't rub it in people's faces. I'm EXTREMELY opinionated but I don't bother others unless they violate my personal space, even online.
